Dr Stephen Baird has been announced as the Chair of Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group, with effect from 26th January 2017.
Dr Baird, formerly a GP partner at the Hawthorn Medical Practice, Skegness, replaces Dr Peter Holmes, who stood down as Chair at the end of 2016 in order to focus on his patients and practice, Stuart House Surgery in Boston.
“I am delighted to have been elected as Chair of the CCG,” comments Dr Baird. “As a local GP for 13 years I understand very well the challenges faced by the NHS locally and also the needs of our patients, and I hope I can use my experience and insight on behalf of Lincolnshire East CCG.”
Dr Baird qualified in 1983 and, following stints in Middlesbrough and Lincoln, joined the Swindon and Cirencester VTS where he qualified as a GP in 1988, before joining a practice in Dagenham. In 2003 Dr Baird moved to Skegness where he joined Hawthorn Medical Practice. Having been involved with Lincolnshire East CCG since its beginnings in 2013, Dr Baird has been an active member of the CCG’s Governing Body and also its Skegness and Coast Locality. Now working as a locum, Dr Baird is also a councilor on Wainfleet Town Council.
